Smoothie bowls are great. You can whip them up in no time and shove almost anything you feel like on top; as long as your base is good it will almost always taste delicious and is the easiest way to get nutrients fast with a big dose of fibre to boot.
Recently I have been so busy trying to move house, revise for exams, helping out with Rainbo and the general self-employed hustle that I have been almost living off them for breakfast and sometimes dinner.
The weirder the colour, the tastier the bowl: spinach and cacao look like a magical swamp and I love it.
A big handful of spinach, washed
2 tsp raw cacao
1 glass almond or nut milk
1 tsp chia seeds
Pomegranate, seeds and coconut to sprinkle
Blend all the ingredients, adjust to taste – don’t let your healthy palate get lazy, you know what tasets good!
Sprinkle and go.
