Over the weekend of September 30 – October 2, we are holding a very special retreat focused around Authenticity: a celebration of love and life with our accomplished teacher and renowned group and personal therapist, Karam Duc Minh. We have worked with and assisted Karam in many groups, and his work fuses a number of therapeutic modalities, from tantra and primal healing to somatic experiencing, Gestalt therapy and the Path of Love; it is a honour to bring his work to the UK and share his unique and loving approach to healing and self inquiry.
Born in France and half Vietnamese, half French, Karam has worked as a therapist for more than 20 years. He trained in Gestalt, integrative psycotherapy and systemic therapy in Switzerland after a long stay in Poona, India, where he was introduced to the world of Osho, meditation, and emotional and body oriented therapy. He then explored this integrative approach more intensively with his mentor Veeresh, founder of the Humaniversity, the world-famous international centre for group therapy based in the Netherlands. He also gained experience in working in psychosomatic clinics with people in crisis, and worked with adolescents in need of psychotherapeutic support.
For many years he has led a wide variety of groups, oriented toward the realisation of the unique human potential which lies within each of us. After co-leading workshops and personal trainings based on Tantra and sacred sexuality in Paris, he started to work in Pacha Mama in Costa Rica, a unique alternative spiritual community where he is now their senior therapist, leading Primal, Tantra, somatic healing oriented groups and the Awakening of Love Process.
It is here that we met him and began to work with him and his partner Raaji, and together as a team we are delighted to welcome you on the Path of Authenticity weekend group. For two nights and two days, we will immerse ourselves in the beautiful nature and healing space at 42 Acres, exploring the theme of authenticity and what lies in the way of experiencing it in our everyday lives. We will look at authenticity as the doorway and key to acceptance and true love, both for ourselves and others, working through the conditionings such as fear, shame and judgment that lie in the way of experiencing it fully. We will allow the innate wisdom of our bodies to guide us in releasing what needs to be let go of as we dive through the layers that are holding us back.
The weekend will begin with a opening circle on Friday evening, with two days of self inquiry, group work, sharing, movement and guided meditation, all the while supported by the healing power of the surrounding Somerset woodlands and high vibration vegetarian food from the talented Mark Mabon. We will also have a fire ceremony around the bonfire on Saturday night and plenty of opportunity for time alone in nature to explore and recalibrate away from the bustle of the city.
The group will be fully supported by myself and Ben, creating space for an intimate encounter with the self, and allowing us to pass through the layers of resistance, conditioning, pain and fear that keep us from truly experiencing the authenticity and love that resides within each and every one of us.
Together within the safe space of our beloved home away from home 42 Acres (images below), we will experience a deeply supportive and transformative weekend that allows us to break the unhelpful patterns of modern everyday life and reconnect to our true selves and heartspace with gentleness, love and friendship.
